POWER BAR

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention, and many times this
is exactly correct.

Since I deal with dozens of electrical and electronic devices, I need power bars.
Lots of Power Bars. Big power bars.
There aren't any. Anywhere. At All.

I was buying lots of small, typical ones at the Dollar store, but in the past few years the economy has
has deteriorated drastically, and they are no longer available at all at the Dollar
stores, nor ANYWHERE, at a reasonable price.
At least a dozen power bars have been stolen by thieves here in Vancouver, so I always need more...
Generally, I am fed up with the anal retentive, short sighted, ridiculous "Power Bars"
offered to the public - you must be kidding!

If you look at the $40 super-duper expensive power bar below, it has input and output
ports for "Surge Protection" of telephone, ethernet, cable, and all 7 of the outlets.
If you know anything about electronics, the added little electronic parts inside, cost,
about $00.0006 each in quantity, and there are 5 of them... duh...
NOTE that there is ONE outlet ( 110 Volt, North American) that is slightly separated
from the others so that you can USE " ONE " adapter ( 1 )... you must be kidding.
The most adapters I could plug in was 4. Ridiculous. $40 for 4 plugs? ? ? ? ?

I went to the Dollar store and got 6 ( Six ), 3 outlet, grounded, 110 VOLT , adapters, and used
a section of ordinary House wiring with a used white 110 Volt cord and Plug, to make
an 18 adapter Power Bar. The next one I make will NOT use the plastic white channel
( left over scrap from vinyl siding on a construction project ), but will just use flexible
ordinary wiring, in between the plugs, to give greater flexibility.

My 18 DEVICE Power Bar cost about $8, and I can actually " USE " it, plugging in
18 REAL WORLD ( not the ridiculous manufacturers' theoretical world ) devices...

This is the ONLY power bar I have ever used in my life that
I could "USE" every outlet. NOT "some" of the the outlets,
sort of, some of the time, maybe, but ALL the outlets,
ALL the TIME !
I have used thousands of power bars... How hard can it be
to think about a design that actually WORKS!
(Apparently, very hard, since this is the first household,
off-the-shelf, standard power
bar
ever made that anyone can USE! ) NOTE, there are
INDUSTRIAL, track power bars, made of long sections of metal
tracks, usually 6 to 8 feet long, that you can permanently
install, for 20 to 60 feet of plugs, spaced every foot or so,
however, these are not 'standard, household', Power Bars !
The INDUSTRIAL power bars are also extremely
expensive!

Using heavy duty wiring, and a single rubber mold, you could make these in Hong Kong for
$1.99, and sell them anywhere in North America for $9.99, and people would buy them so
fast you could not keep them in stock!

Some people, who know nothing about ELECTRICITY think that the mess of wires is
dangerous, since it LOOKS complicated. Anyone who knows about cell phone chargers
and most wall adapters, is that they use " MILLI- amps" or 1/thousands of amps, so that
you could plug in 100 of these and not get the power used by an ordinary light bulb!
Furthermore, most battery charger devices ( like a cell phone ) turn OFF, once the device
is fully charged, so almost NO POWER is being used most of the time!

Unfortune ately, lately, I am stuck in CANADA, where every factory or machine shop I know of,
one by one, is closing down... I fear with the rampant Corporation/Government policies, Canada
will become ( if it already isn't ), a "3rd World Country".

Anyhow, I have got to get dressed to go outside. I have to get some "Canadian" food for dinner...

Because illegal hackers have decided to spam the name
" robin dusty graves" or " robindustygraves "
I have decided to use the same tactics that they use, and load
my REAL web pages with the key search words that would be used
by search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, Google, etc.

As it now stands, searches are re-directed illegally and maliciously by
spammers, who create thousands of fake web pages, that Microsoft's;
BING.com, for example, found and displayed for many months after
the last set of 'new and improved' registrations of new illegal, malicious
spam web sites, each with " robindustygraves.html " included,
- while at the same time, BING, in a search, refused to find
DUSTYGRAVES.COM or ROBINDUSTYGRAVES.COM  when searching for
'robindustygraves' ! ! ! Go figure.
( This demonstrates that the spammer/hackers clearly understand the
algorithms used by Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex, etc., and tailor the
fake web pages to achieve high placements on the search engines.
Google and Bing have changed their algorithms, while Yandex always
used a different algorithm, and seemed to achieve higher valid results
on the first search pages. However, the hacker/spammers are always
very close behind in developing better spam . . . )
The fake web pages re-direct to pornography, PAY-PER-CLICK websites,
that the spammers get paid a fraction of a penny for each person who
accidentally clicks on them, pages selling illegal prescription drugs
without prescriptions needed, and to pages where the SERVER is deliberately
set up to spam with POP UPS that state things like " MICROSOFT
WINDOWS ANTI-VIRUS HAS DETECTED A VIRUS - CLICK HERE to continue
Scanning, and Remove the VIRUS" - If you click on ANYTHING,
--the little "X" in the top corner to close, the box on the bottom that
states "CLOSE", -- any action besides CTRL-ALT-DELETE ( to bring up
the Windows Task Manager, to CLOSE your Browser entirely! ) it will
download a virus that generates a continual barrage of fake VIRUS
warning alerts, that demand Visa and Mastercard to remove- If you are
foolish enough to actually GIVE your Visa or Mastercard, the information
is used to make illegal purchases, AND the virus is NOT removed!
Many fake web  re-directions take you to a page that appears to
"LOAD" for a long time with an hour glass or "now loading" ICON, but,
while that is happening, your IP address, your specific geo-loacation,
your specific information on YOUR computer, etc. is being gathered,
and by the time the fake web page actually loads, often with a FAKE web
"SEARCH PAGE" ( Pay-per-click), your computer is already compromised,
and is subject to further hacking from that point onwards... This SNOOPER
software was developed and is used by gaming companies like Electronic
ARTS, to completely analyse a "Customer's" computer when they log into
an online game. It looks at every possible scrap of information on the
computer, such as the video card used, the mouse, the CPU chip serial
number, and all software, etc. If the "customer" changes a mouse or any
part, the software can BAN the player, claiming that the game is being
illegally copied on "some other" computer... Now, of course, the
technology is used by hacker/spammers to snoop all computers that
accidentally are diverted to illegal, malicious, fake, web pages. The
computer is then put on a LIST of computers marked for further hacking.
The software also looks for all OPEN or UNLOCKED communication
channels ( ports ) that can be attacked... great stuff.

Real Science is a fascinating subject, unlike the decades of what
was typically taught in schools that I endured, that tries to KILL
every shred of imagination, of hope, of possibility, and instead,
fills the time with memorizations of WHAT CAN NOT BE DONE!

Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light...

Nothing can get colder than absolute zero.

Matter can neither be created nor destroyed... etc etc.

( All wrong! search Richard Feynman, for a lecture on this! )

There are always a handful of educators, scattered here and there,
who is interested and therefore
interesting, and who keep
mankind from falling back into the Dark AGES !

With the String theory, and new discoveries of the last few years,
we are on the brink of an entirely new era - and I can't wait to see
what happens next! This is a wondrous and magical time, with the
doors of science wide open again - and the view is breathtaking!

**Clarke's Three Laws are three "laws" of prediction formulated
by the British writer                Arthur C. Clarke. They are:

1/ When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something
is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something
is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2/ The only way of discovering the limits of the possible
is to venture a little way past them  into the impossible.
3/ Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

(thanks to wikipedia)

have fun

So far, this winter, I am NOT far enough South... Just as the weather
got warm, and the roads were dry, we got a huge snowfall, that lasted
days! After shoveling snow for a few hours I built a 7- foot snowman,
that says it all!
