Photo 15   This cute little robot actually looks like a robot, and is found at a dollar store. It has a tiny 3 volt christmas tree bulb behind the eyes, which look like two LED lights. There is one tiny white gear on the bottom which was poorly made and required me to hand make the gear teeth properly to make it reliable. For a starting project it is cute,easy to work with, small, and for $1 Canadian, easily obtained. The only thing it can do is go forward or backwards. This is perfect for a first "interface" test of the robot circuitboard and software to demonstrate the principles for more complex projects. I am always on the lookout for similar motorized devices that can be used by kids, cheaply and easily.
